Neapolitan pizza is my absolute favorite and this place really nails it! White sauce base - mushroom pizza was super earthy and cheesy... one of my favorite pizza toppings. They have 2 types of margarita pizza and we got the upgraded DOP one. Probably one of the best margarita pizzas I've had. Loved the outdoor patio - the vibe was very cozy and it is protected + has lots of heaters so it was pleasant sitting outside even in cold weather!
Today I had the pleasure of having the vibes merchant, Artem, as my server. When we arrived he greeted us with a smile and a firm dap up. He served us with proficiency and efficiency, while addressing all of my personal dietary restrictions and requirements. He even made a cute latte art for me! We had the Broccoli Romanesco and the Saffron Arancini as appetizers, and they didn't disappoint. I particularly enjoyed the spiced yogurt in the broccoli! The pizzas were amazing, with the crust crispy on the outside and bottom, with a nice chew in the middle. Toppings were premium as well. We also got tiramisu for dessert. It was not too sweet, and had amazing texture. Overall, would come again!
It you're from San Francisco, you know Pizza Delfina. It's simple, rustic, and yummy. The location here is probably much easier to manage for most. Easier parking, more seats, nicer and newer. The food was identical to the original location from the few items we tried. Service was also better here but that could be a hit or miss. The vibes were good but a bit loud. If you want solid pizza with no frills. Delfina delivers. Are there better Neapolitan style pizzas in SF? Yes. But you'll have a much harder time finding them in the peninsula. It's chewy with a nice crust and solid ingredients. The rest of their menu also provides the Cal-Italian cuisine you'd expect. Overall, not a bad place for a quick bite, especially if you are craving Neapolitan Pizza.
We recently dined at Delfina, and it was an absolute delight! The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, each with its own charm. Inside, it's cozy with soft lighting and a warm, inviting vibe, while the outdoor patio is perfect for enjoying fresh air --ideal for both lively gatherings and intimate dinners. Now, let's talk about the food! Every dish we ordered was a treat. We started with the saffron arancini, which had a beautiful golden hue and a subtle saffron flavor that was both unique and delicious. Next up was the spaghetti pomodoro, a classic done to perfection with fresh tomatoes, basil, and just the right amount of garlic. For pizzas, we tried both the Cherry Pie and Panna pizzas. The Cherry Pie pizza had a delightful mix of cherry tomatoes and a hint of sweetness balanced by fresh mozzarella, while the Panna pizza was rich, creamy, and completely satisfying. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and you could tell they take pride in quality. Service was equally impressive. Our server was attentive and checking in just enough without being intrusive. Overall, Delfina is a gem for Italian food lovers. With the option for indoor and outdoor seating, delicious food, and attentive service, it's a place worth visiting again.
The ambiance is fantastic especially with the outdoor seating. The staff is very courteous. The saffron arancini is delicious. We had the spaghetti delfina and the Panna pizza and they were fantastic.
This spot in downtown Palo Alto is perfect for gatherings with friends and family. Each pizza offers a unique flavor, with a chewy crust and flavorful sauce. The outdoor ambiance, complete with wall vine plants, is ideal for enjoying a spring breeze and reminiscent of Italy. Our overall experience at tonight's family dinner was excellent, although there was a mistake with our order and we missed the clam pie. Please note that nearby parking can be tricky due to the 2-hour same zone parking limitation. Make sure to plan ahead.
Great spot for family dinner. Something for everyone! The service is quick and friendly. They are busy so be sure to get a reservation. The star of the show was the tiramisu! It was not too sweet, perfect texture, and great portion size. I will come back for just this and drinks. We got a burrata with crostini's and arugula salad. It was fresh but basic. The tricolor salad was fresh with lemon dressing but also very simple. The pizza was good but slightly undercooked dough inside which was not ideal but it had a rustic, fire burnt, and crispy exterior. We added broccolini to or pizza which was delicious. The meat, sauce and cheese were high quality. Overall, not a pizza I would come back for. I really loved how fresh everything tasted. I had all that food and didn't feel stuffed at the end of the night. I would recommend this spot! Especially for families as there is something for everyone and great interior or outdoor seating.
I've previously been to the original location in SF many years ago, so I was pretty excited to try the location in Palo Alto for a team dinner. We had a fixed menu: - Saffron arancini - saffron-mozzarella risotto fritters - Little gem lettuce - green goddess dressing, avocado, pistachios - 4 Formaggi pizza - tomato, mozzarella, fontal, provolone, pecorino - Broccoli raab pizza - broccoli raab, caciocavallo, mozzarella, olives, hot peppers - Delfina's spaghetti pomodoro - Tiramisu I'm a big fan of simple pizza without toppings, so I can really taste the cheese, sauce, and crust. The 4 Formaggi pizza was right up my alley - very nice crust and cheese. I was amazed at how great the Little gem lettuce salad, since I'm normally not a fan of salad. The spaghetti pomodoro was solid, and the saffron arancini was decent. However, the Broccoli raab pizza was really bad - the crunch of the broccoli was just a weird texture to have on pizza, and the moistness of the broccoli made the pizza too wet. Overall, it was a nice spot for dinner and the good items were really good (4 formaggi, little gem lettuce). I'll be back!
